Action-movie legend Arnold Schwarzenegger is awake and in good spirits following emergency heart surgery.
The 70-year-old Hollywood icon, famous for starring in the Terminator and Predator franchises, underwent a catheter valve replacement on Thursday at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles, only for complications to arise which led to the emergency surgery. Currently resting, the former governor of California took to Twitter to update fans on his recovery.
"It’s true: I’m back! I went to sleep expecting to wake up with a small incision and woke up with a big one - but guess what? I woke up, and that’s something to be thankful for. Thank you to the doctors & nurses. And I’m truly filled with gratitude for all of the kind messages."
Schwarzenegger thanked his team of doctors and nurses, and expressed “gratitude” for his fans.
